This year has seemed really long as my big competition is not until November when I go with the rest of the GB team to South Africa for the IAADS world Championships.

I am grateful to all my peers who competed at the DSE Regional Championships in May and Mencap Nationals in June, to give me some really good competition in prep for the games. At the DSE I came third to Hollie and Hettie and again in Mencap.

I am now stepping up my training and hope to do my best for club and coach.

I was really pleased to hear that team GB did so well in LA for the Special Olympic and great to hear that St Albans athlete did so well. I was there in spirit watching from the hoarding!

Went to the Mencap National Championship in Manchester – 28.6.14

Really excited to be running on the same track used in the Commonwealth games. Still recovering from the games in Porto so only did the 100m and 200m and came third.

Pleased with my performance on the back on Porto and now focusing on South Africa in 2015

Following on from my good start at the DSE regional championships in Chelmsford, I has just returned from the IAADS (International Association of Athletes with Down Syndrome) European Championships in Portugal.

Team GB had a really good competition and I am very pleased with my 5 gold medals for all the events I competed in, 100m, 200m, 400m, Longjump and for the first time the Triathlon (100m, Longjump and Shot). Mum suggested I try the Triathlon as they include my events and I am so pleased I did as I set a new world record for this event, as well as retaining my world records in all my other events.

Team GB came fourth overall (1st Portugal, 2nd Italy and 3rd Turkey), after the competition Mum, Dad and I stayed on for a few days to explore the beautiful city of Porto – really good and the port is very nice I liked the White port (but only after the competition had finished!)

My next competition is now the Mencap Nationals in Manchester in June.

I have some very exciting news to share with you, I have a sponsor “Cambridge Commodities Ltd” who have given me a substantial donation which will be a great help with competition expenses especially as I am fundraising for South Africa in 2015 to go to the world games and need to raise approx £4000.

I was very lucky to be a guest of the Special Olympics at the BBC Sports Personality of the year in Leeds on Sunday 15.12.13, what a fantastic night, everywhere I looked their were famous sports personalities, Dad recognized more than me, we had a great time, first we went to a civic reception, then the show (our seats were 6 rows from the front) and after the show onto the after party, Dad had a job to keep up with me!

Met my idol Jessica Ennis and lots of other really fantastic and inspirational athletes, here are a few pictures:

The Eastern Team did really well at the Bath Summer Games, I competed in the 100m, 200m Long Jump and 4X100m relay.

Some great performances, I am thrilled with my gold medal in the 4 x 100m Relay well done to all the girls Tara, Sarah, and Hayley.

Big thanks to all at Bath who made it such an exciting competition.

I wanted to share this picture with you, as Mum always said that she didn’t mind driving me, Hal and Will around to our activities as it kept us out of Bus Shelters!!

Hope she is not to disappointed I am hanging in a bus shelter in Cambridge!!

Big thank you to Colin Salmon for being one of our Special Olympic Ambassadors, and for helping me with the Interview on the Lorraine Show

Wish me luck in Bath, I will do my best.

What a year I had in 2012, for everyone its been a year of sports and I am very proud to have been a torch bearer in both the Olympics and the Paralympics. Next time I want to take part and hopefully by RIO Learning Disability athletes will be allowed to compete in the sprint events. So come on IPC get it sorted.

For now I am really pleased with my achievements:
May 2012 World Championships in the Azores winning four Gold Medals and retaining my 4 world records in the 100m 200m 400m and Longjump.
September 2012 European Championships in Russia Gold in the 400m and set a new world record and Silver in the 4 x 100m relay

I also won my club Cambridge and Coleride Female Track Performer of the year award. I was lucky to also be Living Sports Local disabled sports performer of the year and was presented with my trophy by Jody Cundy.

Keep watching for 2013 – Some club events in April then off to Rome in May for European Championships and Bath for Special Olympics Summer Games.
